PROFIBUS Active Measuring Point

For the purpose of diagnosing the network (signal-to-noise ratio), non-intrusive PROFIBUS communication interaction measurement points are required at the 2 ends of each segment of a PROFIBUS network. These measuring points must be accessible during operation. To obtain optimal information on the physical quality of the transmission, the measurement points must be provided at both ends of a segment.

The PBMA type not only meets the requirements of a non-intrusive measuring point, but also fulfills the requirements and active termination function of the bus. The Power LED indicates the 24V power supply required to power the termination resistor.

The diagnostic tools are connected according to the PG/diagnostic interface of the PROFIBUS connector. For a connection without interaction of a programming device (laptop/field PG), the use of an APKA or APKA II active cable is recommended.
