Permanent PROFIBUS network diagnostics

PROFIBUS-MONITOR BC-502-PB is a local PROFIBUS DP traffic supervisor/monitor, which in addition to monitoring the network is also capable of recording telegrams and traffic data (temporary or permanent recordings). . By continuously analyzing PROFIBUS DP traffic, it detects problems, before they block the network. If intervention is necessary, it automatically notifies the maintenance teams. PROFIBUS-Monitor makes it possible to anticipate breakdowns and optimise interventions on the PROFIBUS network. It manages, evaluates and records locally major events of a PROFIBUS DP network such as:

Defective telegrams.

Repetition of telegrams (retry).

Failure of components present on the network.

Diagnostic Messages (SLAVE_DIAG)

Variation in cycle time.

As soon as the number of errors exceeds a configurable limit, the PROFIBUS-Monitor sends a dry contact alarm or to a server via the Ethernet network. The user can select the errors for which he wants to record the evolution. The data can then be accessed locally or via a network (Web Page).

PROFIBUS-Monitor stores a rotating list of the last 100 errors. All of this information can be consulted at any time via its on-board WEB interface. The tool also offers the possibility of recording the PROFIBUS frames surrounding an alarm for a specific period of time. This mode allows a PROFIBUS expert to analyze the event in detail (upstream and downstream frames) by importing this trace file into the PROFIBUS PB-DIAG-SUITE tool.
